老师们、同学们：

Good morning! Dear teachers and students,
    早上好！今天我在国旗下讲话的内容是：“不忘昨天、珍惜今天、创造明天”。

The topic of my today’s speech is: “Remember History, Cherish Present and  Start Future”.
    历史老人孤零零地守望着岁月的变迁，当年的硝烟弥漫化作了今天的静默无言，他的臂膀依然坚强地背负着飞驶的火车，他的眼眸(里)一直饱含着未干的血泪……

When the history witnesses the changes of time, the cloud of smoke in the past battlefield remains silent nowadays, but it still shoulders the racing train of time, with unseasoned tears of blood in the eyes….

1931年9月18日，80年前的这一天，一声爆炸，东北沈阳城外南满铁路柳条湖段被日军炸毁，日本关东军炮轰北大营，发动了对我国东北的大规模武装进攻，策划并制造了震惊中外的“九一八”事变。由于国民党政府的不抵抗政策，东北三省大好河山风云失色，沦于敌手，长达14年的中日战争拉开序幕。这个日子对每一位炎黄子孙来讲是一个惨痛的记忆。面对凶残的日本侵略者，中国人民同仇敌忾，众志成城，前仆后继，英勇战斗，展开了一场艰苦卓绝的全民族伟大抗战，用鲜血和生命谱写了正义战胜邪恶、光明战胜黑暗、进步战胜反动的英雄史诗。

On the same day of 80 years ago, 18^th ,Sep.1931, the LiuTiaoHu Branch of Nanman Railway outside Shenyang was bombed out by the Japanese troops and the Kwantung Army bombed BeiDa Camp, which started the massive armed attack.

That’s the world-astonishing “918 Event”. However because the then government of Kuomintang made no resistance ,the three provinces of Northeast were at a loss and fell into the enemy’s hands. The war lasted for 14 years from then on. So ,that day should be a painful memory for every Chinese. In face of the fierce and cruel Japanese invaders,we shared the bitter hatred,united the strenth and took up the positions of the fallen and rose to fight one after another,presenting an arduous great resistance of the whole nation. We ,using the blood and lives , wrote a great epic of good over evil, light overcoming darkness, progress over reactionary.

当时的中国，还是一个积贫积弱的半殖民地半封建国家，面对数十年来处心积虑图谋灭我的日本帝国主义，力量对比极为悬殊。然而，让全世界感到惊讶的是，中华民族这个曾经饱受欺凌的民族，在最险峻的关头却巍然挺立于世界东方，不屈不挠地抵御着日本法西斯的猖狂进攻，创造了一个经济与军事实力都远逊于对手的弱国打败帝国主义强国的奇迹。

China of the day was a weak semi-colonial and semi-feudalcountry,and the gap was great compared with the violent Japanese.However, to one’s astonishment,the once suffering China is still standing up in the east ,defending against the Japanese Famcism and creating a wonder of our own.

历史不能再重演，我们也决不让它重演！纪念“九一八”是为了不忘国耻，是为了铭记“落后就要挨打”的历史教训，是为了坚定中华民族伟大复兴的信念。

History can’t repeat itself and we can’t let it repeat! Remembering this event is to remember the national humiliation, to have the lesson in mind that delays are dangerous, to hold the belief of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

今天，在和平年代的今天，我们能否清醒地坚守自己的文化家园？我们国家的明天将如何，这一切取决于今天站在这里的每一位同学。你们是祖国的希望，民族的未来。愿你们都怀抱着自己的理想，在人生的航程上不断乘风破浪，奋勇前进。
    Can we awake to stick to our own culture home in the peaceful time ? How will the future of our country? That all depends every one of you. You are the hope of the motherland, the future of the nation. May you are carrying yourown ideal, braving the wind and moving formord in the voyage of life.

总有一种力量让我们感动，总有一种精神催我们前行。历史老人依然在前行，我们依旧需要努力，只是为了那段不容忘却的历史……老师们、同学们，就让我们牢记历史、不忘过去、珍爱和平、开创未来吧！

There is a kind of strength which makes us moved and a kind of spirit which pushes us forword. The old man is still in history and moving on. We still need to work hard , just for that memorable history …. Dear teachers and students , let us remember history, not forget the past, cherish peace and  create the future!
